On Wednesday, apparently someone over at Naver listened to my recent request for pictures of interesting juxtapositions featuring observers of Korean advertisements, and chose this as the photo of the day. True, not exactly what I wanted, but it’s a good start.
If anyone wants me to translate the three(!) paragraphs accompanying the photo, just give me a buzz. Actually, I’m a little curious myself as to what the judge found to write about it, but unfortunately I have a screaming daughter and baby to deal with as I type this (story of my life these days). With the five minutes spare that I did have though, I learned that the model’s name is Jessica Stam (제시카 스탐), and that Solezia (쏠레지아) is a Korean company (I think). Here’s a larger version of the original advertisement too:

Of course, you could argue that Jessica Stam doesn’t quite look gaunt enough there, much more so than in real life, but fortunately Solezia knew where to draw the line on good taste and healthy body images of women.

hang in there, james. enjoy your blog; take care of your family. hope everything’s well for you these days.
Apart from my second daughters’ vaccinations costing two months of my salary, and me getting very little sleep these days, everything’s okay I guess. Thanks for asking! :)
LOL, get some sleep, and in the meantime I’ll keep contemplate my continuing sexual allure . . .
Duly well and truly slept! Actually, I actually meant the title as a self-effacing pun on my tendency to overanalyse things like that (exhibit A: this comment), so I’ve been quite surprised to find that over a thousand people clicked on links to see specifically this post already. Ironically, at first I didn’t really like the shape of the image either, with landscape orientations looking much better with this blog theme and all, but actually having the boy “under the fold” so to speak made it that much more surprising and funnier, yes?
For some reason I keep thinking that you’re a Gyopo, I don’t know why. It would be good to have a face to the name, so we really should meet up sometime, and hopefully before Daejeon next year!
