The Grand Narrative

Korea Doesn’t Get Much Cuter Than This…

Posted in Girl Groups, Korean Music by James Turnbull on September 29, 2010

A girl-group aimed at my demographic, set in the style of the video games I used to play as a teenager? Seriously, what more could one ask for in a music video?^^

Thanks to Ashley at SeoulBeats for the laugh!

Is there a reason for Dokdo being there (other than it being 우리 땅, obviously)?

None that I can see, and kind of ruins the vibe as well. Ironically though, adding it for no reason whatsoever is just as quintessentially Korean as Gee Gee Gee is!

    James,

You need to do a post comparing Aegyo (Korean) vs. Kawai (Japanese) culture. That would be an interesting post.

Don’t know enough about…er…kawaiiness sorry Edward.

Thanks for the video abcfsk. There’s a few more like it in this post and this one too, some also with SNSD!^^

It reminds me of ‘Nintendo World Cup’ from the NES.

SNSD are great. :) They’re so much less coy and stiff in interviews and on variety shows than other girl groups are, too.
